Reiki in the Workplace

Providing your staff with a regular holistic energy healing session as part of your employee wellbeing programme is easy and rewarding

Wellness and mental health support is now viewed by employees as essential part of their package rather than a 'nice to have'. Employers are turning to holistic therapies more than ever before and Reiki is increasing in popularity as it is recognised as a holistically effective yet accessible, simple and practical therapy. Its Japanese roots are ancient, but it is very modern in the way it is practised. It is also gentle and non-invasive, yet yields powerful results.

It is inevitable in today's world that workplace stress and related issues are near the top of the list of concerns when running a business. The figures above are from the 2025 Burnout Report by Mental Health UK, which 'takes the pulse of the nation’s stress levels'. They show that, in their words, 'the risk of burnout is still prevalent'. It also raised the alarm that the younger generations of workers, particularly aged 18-24 but also in the 25-44 bracket, are most likely to suffer from work-related stress leading to mental health issues and the lack of support has led to a breakdown in trust between employee and employer and increased absenteeism.

However, despite a tendency to a culture of silence on these matters, the survey also found that there are some positive signs of progress and workplaces who prioritise awareness of, and adjustments to, the care and wellbeing of their employees, leading to reported benefits, such as being better able to recognise and handle their stress and 32% saying that their workplace had plans in place to help their colleagues spot chronic stress and prevent burnout.

Reiki can help mental wellbeing at work

If you have been wondering how to show your staff your appreciation whilst also supporting them in managing their mental health Reiki would be a perfect solution. Providing them with 20 minutes of relaxing energy clearing and rebalancing once a month is a great way to increase your workforce's feeling of worth and their wellbeing, providing benefits for both your staff individually and collectively for your business as you can see below. It's also affordable, and whilst being refreshingly different to the standard wellness provisions is always compatible with everyone - whatever career or life-stage they are in and whatever challenges they are dealing with.

Practical and minimally disruptive

It's also a very practical way to provide this addition to your staff's wellbeing as it causes minimal disruption to the working day - I can set up in a small meeting room in your offices, there is no massage chair/bed or other equipment required and the sessions are quiet and peaceful. The employee remains fully clothed and after around twenty minutes will return to their desk relaxed and refreshed.

The session

The session that I have designed for office workers takes around 20 minutes per person and is outlined below. They will not need to do anything other than sit, fully clothed, in a chair and relax.

All I require is a small meeting room with a table and two chairs.

I worked in the corporate world for many years so you can rely on me to be professional, smart and discreet.

The format of each 20 minute session

1. Basic Chakra rebalancing

Working with each of the seven chakras to clear and rebalance them, which promotes feelings of clarity and balance throughout the body. This is important as the chakras don't only work physically, but affect us emotionally too. For example, the chakra in our solar plexus is also responsible for our feelings of self-confidence.

2. Crown and Third Eye clearing

I treat the head with energy to clear it after the chakras have been rebalanced. This ensures that clarity and focus are retained and the recipient feels refreshed.

3. Grounding

To finish the session I take the energy down to the feet. This is particularly important in an office setting as most of what we do in this environment involves the upper part of our bodies - our heads, particularly our eyes and ears, and our hands and arms. Working in this way takes the energy away from our feet which are an important part of our energy system, providing grounded-ness and stability.
